The SUD Clinician is part of a specialized team that provides substance use disorder treatment for people who are either self-referred or involved in the criminal justice system. Interventions may be time-limited or longer term, and will be part of an outcome-oriented treatment plan developed within an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) framework, which includes periodic reviews for appropriateness of services, intensity, and levels of care. This clinician will work with the client's goals to ensure their ability to become as healthy and engaged as possible in their community, using recovery language and principles. Location: 13555 NE Bel Red Rd #228, Bellevue, WA 98005 Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm We are accepting applications until February 27, 2026.

Requirements

Requires at least an AA degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field.
Requires a minimum of one year of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager and demonstrated skills in clinical assessment and treatment plans, preferred.
Understands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy, and/or case management approach to providing services.
Possesses a strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County, and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates.
Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound.
Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises.
Able to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with the complex and diverse population.
Washington State DOH SUDP certification required.
Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire.
Must pass a criminal background check.
To successfully perform the essential duties of this Job, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day. Responsibilities

Provides direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
Provides intake evaluations per ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine); individual and group therapy to clients and families.
Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.
Develops and implements recovery plans, per ASAM criteria.
Provides all required case management services, including admission, WAC required reports, continued stay, and discharge plans.
Responsible for collecting various samples, such as urine, saliva, breath alcohol, or other specimens, for duties such as interacting with donors, conducting drug testing, handling cases, updating case status, and processing and shipping specimens.
Prepares necessary reports, summaries, and progress notes, and incorporates them into clinical records.
Performs consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client.
Assists the client to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.
Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
