About The Position

The Centers Residential Care Teams programming and care is grounded in trauma informed care. The team strives to understand the complete picture of a client's life situation with particular emphasis on the past (development trauma) and present - in order to provide a true roadmap of healing. The Centers Residential Programs utilizes interdisciplinary teamwork led by our, Medical Director, Assistant Medical Director, Director of Nursing and Residential Clinical Director. The team is comprised of healthcare providers from different fields who work together or toward the same goal to provide the best care or best outcome for our students.

Requirements

Requires a Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Social Work or very closely related field.
Must be licensed as a Marriage/Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Licensed as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
Requires knowledge of and adherence to applicable professional codes of ethics pertinent to the delivery of outpatient addiction services.
Requires current knowledge of: techniques for assessing emergencies, various therapeutic approaches (e.g. Trauma Informed Care, systems theory, Brief or Solution-Focused Therapy, Client-Centered, Reality Therapy etc.), dual diagnosis (mental health and alcohol/drug addiction) evaluation and treatment methodologies, be familiar with Evidence Best Practices

Responsibilities

Conduct initial trauma-informed assessment and complete required documentation at admission.
Provide and review the residential program Student & Guardian Handbook during the intake session.
Conduct interviews and assessments for clients to ensure comprehensive services and safety is provided to all clients who enter into the Centers residential programs.
Gather data from the client and other sources; analyze and interpret the data to identify client strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
Utilize outcome tools to determine clients progress. This includes but is not limited to a substance abuse assessment, suicide risk-prevention tool, developmental trauma assessment, domestic sex trafficking assessment, regulatory capacities and in some cases the NMT Brain Metrics.
Develop a comprehensive care plan that addresses risk factors, trauma history, relationships, psychosocial history, substance abuse history, mental health history, community functioning, performance outcomes, strengths, challenges, goals, interventions, and discharge planning according to the programs mission.
Provides ongoing individual, family and group psychotherapy and/or addiction counseling to assigned client caseload.
Treatment modalities and approaches will be tailored to each client based on initial assessments, current developmental functioning and clients directives/input in their journey of healing.
May be asked to provide group and individual psychotherapy and addiction counseling services in areas of specialization required by the clientele of the Centers Residential Programs.
Acts as consultant to counseling and clinical staff in substance abuse area of specialization.
Clinical team member will serve as one of the primary points of contact for care Coordination.
Collaborate with family, clinical team members, county workers, external providers, and natural supports for case conceptualization, assessment, and treatment planning.
Provide clients and their families with information about substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, developmental trauma, regulation, treatment, recovery, and resources.
Clinical team members will also practice the Six Core Strategies to Prevent Conflict and Violence: Reducing the Use of Seclusion and Restraint (6CS) to provide a safe environment that will allow for true healing and growth.
Clinical team members are responsible in creating the initial safety plan and updating it throughout the clients stay at Centers.
Coordinate with clients and resources to focus on identified needs and goals and/or work in tandem with residential case managers.
The primary area of focus will be increasing the clients therapeutic web which has been identified through neuroscience and psychological research as the primary agent of change.
Clinical team members will begin the discharge planning process at intake and will continue it throughout the clients course of treatment.
Identify client needs that can't be met at The Centers and assist clients to use community resources and support systems.
Maintains client files and completes applicable documentation (treatment plans, progress notes, crisis safety plans, relapse prevention plans, etc) within the Centers timeline outlined in policy.
