About The Position

Amentum is seeking an experienced logistics professional to join our team and help support our customer in Newport News, Virginia. As a Supply Technician/Logistics Support Specialist you will perform all aspects of Submarine Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) of submarine new construction processes, to include, but not limited to the responsibilities listed below. Essential Responsibilities: Perform material management functions including scheduled inventories, shipping and receiving, transfer coordination, data entry, record keeping and property control using manual and digital systems. Perform quality assurance duties including inspections and process reviews to ensure accuracy, policy adherence and to identify any potential process improvements. Perform warehouse management duties including storing, stacking and palletizing heavy, sensitive and controlled government electronic equipment within mandated safety regulations. Create, complete and verify various types of records and documents, noting and reporting any discrepancies and/or damage to material. Create and maintain tactical configurations of installed government electronic equipment using a proprietary computer system. Interface and coordinate with various groups, entities and organizations for the replenishment, replacement and return of government electronic equipment. Provide logistic deck plate support to technicians, shipyard and navy personnel to support removal and installation of equipment during the submarine new construction process. Replenish and maintain consumable supplies and equipment for ILS personnel across various locations as needed. Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Ability to promote accuracy, efficiency and safety by adhering to various company and government policies and directives.

Requirements

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years of experience, to include: supervisory or warehouse lead at a DoD facility; logistics support for projects involving electronic/ electrical repair and installation, ordering, acquisition, distribution of material, equipment and resources.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit if required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to overcome issues at the lowest level.
  • Ability to travel as required, up to 10% of the time

  • Previous Navy/Submarine/shipyard supply technician experience.
