About The Position

Chevo LLC is currently hiring a Subject Matter Expert – Systems Engineer to join our expanding firm to join our U.S. Coast Guard Office of Acquisition Support and Systems Engineering Policy (CG-SID-9) team. This position provides support and oversight to the Program Management Offices of major and non-major systems acquisitions and is the primary point of contact with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the acquisition review process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) frameworks and USCG/DHS acquisition policies. This position will be at the client site located in Washington, DC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or similar fields.
  • Current Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
  • 15+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience
  • Deep knowledge of MSAM and NMAP System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) frameworks
  • Experience reviewing and assessing systems engineering products for policy compliance
  • Ability to develop comprehensive technical reports and recommendations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Coast Guard Standard Workstation applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present a polished and professional image to clients
  • Experience developing comprehensive written products including reports, white papers, and policy documents

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in systems Engineering or similar fields.
  • Previous experience supporting USCG or DHS shore infrastructure acquisition programs.
  • Active DHS/USCG Entry of Delivery (EOD) clearance.
  • Experience with Coast Guard Configuration Management Policy, COMDTINST 4130.6 (series), DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle, DHS Instruction 102-01-103, and related acquisition directives.
  • Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) - International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).
  • Systems engineering and or acquisition professional certifications such as, Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP), Engineering Management Professional (EMP), Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P/PM), Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certifications or similar certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide experienced, knowledgeable Systems Engineering support within both the MSAM and NMAP's System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) framework
  • Assist in refining and implementing USCG-focused SELC policies, processes and procedures, in support of MSAM/NMAP acquisition program management and governance
  • Assist in the assessment of individual program's implementation of those policies, processes and procedures
  • Review Systems Engineering products for completeness and compliance with policy and help develop written reports with recommendations as requested
  • Track acquisition program systems engineering review events and their associated completion letters
  • Update the ADSR (Acquisition Document Status Report) monthly with systems engineering information
  • Participate in regular feedback sessions with designated official to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with CG-SID-9 objectives
