About The Position

SOW: Support the GSA Project Managers, providing recommendations to ensure the project goals and objectives are met for each of the listed GSA design and construction projects

Requirements

• B.S Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• Professional engineer (PE) with 20 years’ extensive experience working on critical mission support facilities
• Experience in the interpretation and application of National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC) & the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Standards for Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL), including all the FDA Biological Safety Level 3 Laboratories projects

Responsibilities

• Most construction project work will occur during normal business working hours 6:00am- 6:00pm. There will be requirements to work part-time and/or full-time (hours will vary) during non-business hours (6:00pm - 6:00am, weekends, and holidays) onsite during construction activities to maintain functionality of occupied spaces
• Monitor the performance of various listed GSA design and construction projects and keep all files and programs updated.
• Provide support to BSL-3 laboratories projects recertification/verification efforts and execute subsequent modifications to BSL-3 laboratories as required. In addition, the SME shall make any necessary modifications needed to meet recertification/verification standards in coordination with other concurrent BSL-3 labs shutdown activities
• Provide oversight, advice and understanding of integrated systems that provide essential operational services with a high level of reliability, redundancy, and mechanical automation systems
• Provide technical guidance to facilitate the achievement of other goals of the scope in support of the various listed GSA design and construction projects and keep the White Oak Campus running as smoothly, effectively, and efficiently as possible.
