Due to our continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for a Subfloor Technician to join our friendly team based in Newcastle. This role focuses on carrying out detailed assessments of subfloors to determine compliance with NHBC SR2 tolerance requirements , identifying areas that fall outside the required standards, and providing clear, technically accurate advice to clients. You will work closely with your line manager and the wider team to ensure inspection findings are communicated effectively and that any recommended remedial works or quotations are precise, evidence‑based, and efficiently planned. You will also be required to carry out screed works, when necessary, as part of bringing subfloors up to the required standard.

Requirements

Must be qualified and competent in subfloor preparations including screeds
Must be a fully competent fitter
Must be willing to undertake a DBS (CRB) check
Must be willing to obtain a CSCS Card and undertake Asbestos Awareness Training to carry out this role
Full UK driving licence is essential
Must have good communication skills to enable you to provide excellent service to our customers as well as with your colleagues and site managers

Responsibilities

Being responsible for pre-fit inspections to evaluate the condition of the subfloor.
Complete detailed inspection reports on the condition of subfloors showing areas that are not within tolerance and what work is needed to rectify the issue.
Carry out deliveries when directed.
Carry out remedial or replacement work where necessary at minimal cost as instructed by the Customer Service department.
May be required to drive a transit sized vehicle.
Carry out general housekeeping duties.
Minimise stock holding within the Company.
Minimise stock loss by ensuring good housekeeping standards are promoted.
