About The Position

The Mechanical/Electrical Sub-Assembler works closely with the department manager to ensure all orders are completed on time and meet the highest quality standards based on established assembly estimates. This role requires experience in both electrical and mechanical assembly, with a strong preference for candidates familiar with assembling industrial machinery using various hand and power tools. The Sub-Assembler plays a critical role in building mechanical parts and systems, ensuring all components comply with quality specifications. Success in this position demands attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining quality standards and managing multiple tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of machine sub-assemblies.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with hand tools such as ratchets, wrenches, pneumatic operated tools
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Be able to navigate Aras and BC to gather information.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills: Able to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization with the ability to identify and clarify missing information or unclear requirements proactively.
  • Proficiency with MS office products (Excel, OneNote, Word…etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists.
  • Assemble mechanical components and systems according to detailed specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Perform a wide variety of electrical-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and specialized equipment to perform assembly tasks.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits or similar operations to join or secure parts in place
  • Conduct quality checks on assembled parts to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to prioritize work orders and meet production end dates.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Build positive relationships within departments.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may vary based upon department or order requirements.
