The Studio Manager will assist the Themed Finishes Art Studio Leadership Team in overseeing the daily operations of the Glendale workshop, design studio, project team meetings, and onsite needs. This Studio Manager role will function as an extension of the Leadership Team. The TFAS Leadership Team consists of 5 Glendale-based Executive Leaders (1 overall Studio Leader, 1 Center of Excellence Leader, and 3 Directorates) and 2 Florida-based Directorate. This position is responsible for supporting the global studio organization for operational needs although the role is Glendale, California, based to start. What You Will Do

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of Disney experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Ability to comprehend the design process to streamline the process and make it more efficient.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems and apply critical thinking and analytical skills to workplace issues.
  • Domestic and international travel required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Graphic Design and presentation skills (desired) such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent coursework desired

Responsibilities

  • Function as extension of the Leadership Team when needed for decisions, operational problem solving, and leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment and represent the Studio/Walt Disney Imagineering in a professional manner.
  • Assist Themed Finishes Art Studio Leadership Team in maintaining the global staffing plan to meet multiple project goals.
  • Arrange and participate in creative reviews and meetings as necessary and update the Leadership Team on needs and progress when they cannot be present. Represent the Studio as needed for vendor meetings.
  • Help coordinate external and internal disciplinary communications, (including all disciplines) within the Themed Finishes, such as rockwork, character façade, character paint, exterior themed foliage, and hardscape.
  • Keep track of all upcoming tasks and help funnel information to the appropriate Responsible Individuals. Coordinate and manage tasks between departments to ensure workflows remain efficient and free of bottlenecks.
  • Help prioritize tasks and “to do” lists across the Studio.
  • Develop and maintain a strong interface with related disciplines/department leads (e.g. architecture, production design, show set design, special effects, etc.).
  • Help establish department goals and objectives. Assist the Themed Finishes Art Studio Leadership Team with the development and management of any annual initiatives. Work with the Initiative Owners to develop scope and monitor progress.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve all Themed Finishes Art Studio operational processes, presentations, and templates. Document best practices and lessons learned.
  • Maintain the global Themed Finishes Talent directory.
  • Work with the Themed Finishes Art Studio Leadership Team to ensure consistency across the global organization. Provide overall guidance and direction to the department staff, as necessary.
  • Oversee the organization of the workshop, manage the procurement of specialized materials, and ensure equipment is functional and maintained.
  • Provide guidance and direction to personnel in the department.
  • Update functional management on project status, issues, and concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company protocols regarding workforce, IP, and information safeguarding.
