Requirements

  • Current a student studying towards a degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Currently enrolled in Batchelor's or Master's program
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Working experience with Simulink, Matlab, or Python (for simulation/model creation and data analysis).
  • Some experience in the use of CAD tools
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits
  • Good understanding of engineering principles in 2 or more of the following areas: Strength of materials, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer
  • EV thermal system components & architectures (battery, drive unit, cabin HVAC/heat pump).
  • Working familiarity with CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent)
  • General awareness of how automobiles are designed and built

Responsibilities

  • Includes duties in one or two of the following areas based on the aptitude of the candidate
  • The work is related to the heating and cooling of batteries, motors, electronics and the passenger cabin of a EV automobile
  • Design and test components/ systems used for the thermal system in the vehicle Analyze simulation and test data in Python/MATLAB (parameter estimation, DOE, uncertainty checks) and present actionable insights.
  • Develop CAD model to study the packaging impact of thermal components in the vehicle
  • Work with engineers to develop and conduct tests or analyze data pertaining to the performance of thermal systems
  • Help with building and testing of prototype systems
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally
