About The Position

The Library Services Student Assistant is responsible for:

Dressing in “business casual” attire while at work (quick changes are
allowed).
Greeting researchers.
Registering researchers.
Ensuring researchers sign-in and sign-out of the Belew Scholars’ Room.
Assigning and providing access to lockers.
Answering initial questions about library use.
Using video surveillance equipment to ensure the security of materials while
they are in the Belew Scholars’ Room.
Providing directional information for the 3rd floor and Elizabeth Barrett
Browning Salon to building tourists.

Requirements

• Punctuality, reliability and responsibility a must.
• Initiative.
• Excellent attention to detail a must.
• Accurate keyboarding skills.
• Good spelling and grammar usage.

Nice To Haves

• High GPA desirable.
• Genuine interest in books and libraries desirable.
• Previous library work experience desirable.
