About The Position

This Student Worker position in Facilities & Operations focuses on Horticulture and general campus maintenance. The role involves assisting with a variety of outdoor tasks such as groundskeeping, including cutting grass and weeds, trash pick-up, watering vegetation, and trimming trees and hedges. It also includes cleaning duties like sweeping, power washing patios, and leaf blowing sidewalks and building entrances. Additionally, the student worker will assist with preparing, digging, and planting new vegetation, maintaining facilities and equipment, and supporting event setups and furniture moving. The position also requires providing administrative functions, maintaining communication, and adhering to professional standards and ethics.

Responsibilities

Assists with cutting grass and weeds
Assists with trash pick-up
Assists with watering grounds as well as various other vegetation around campus
Assists with cleaning/sweeping/power washing of patios
Assists with leaf blowing of sidewalks, patios & building entrances around campus
Assists with the trimming of trees, hedges, and buses around campus
Assists with prepping, digging, and planting of new vegetation around campus
Assists in maintenance of all facilities, buildings, and equipment throughout campus
Assists with event set-ups and furniture moving, which includes lifting, carrying, and transporting
Provides a broad range of administrative functions
Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external)
Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy
Performs other duties as assigned
