About The Position

The student worker will support GBC Student Disability Services in a variety of tasks necessary for the provision of equal access for students with disabilities.

Requirements

• Must be a current student of Great Basin College
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA
• Must qualify for Work Study or RSP through Student Financial Services
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizations skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to learn how to navigate and apply accessibility software

Responsibilities

• Transcribe or caption videos using PanOpto, YouTube, Zoom, or other platform
• Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, editing, and shredding documents.
• Assist staff and students with training on how to use accessibility software
• Complete other duties as necessary to support the efforts of the DRC
