About The Position

The Career Connection Office is looking for multiple motivated, creative, and reliable student interns to work with us next year.

You’ll work ~4–6 hours a week, collaborating directly with our staff to help OWU students prepare for the professional world.

Requirements

• Must be reliable, detail-oriented, possess initiative and follow-through, and have a strong motivation to complete projects.
• Excellent communication skills; emphasis on writing and interpersonal skills.
• Verbal coaching/active listening skills.
• Creative/Artistic skills− writing advertisements, creating posters, flyers, banners, and social media posts.
• Knowledge of Google Suite & Microsoft Word, and Canva proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Peer Career Coach: Meeting with students for resume/cover letter review, drop-in career advising, and other career-related needs.
• Marketing & Newsletter Support: Create marketing materials on Canva, draft bi-weekly newsletters to students, and complete Instagram social media posts. Will likely involve Career Community specific tasks.
• Career Ambassador: Serve in focus group conversations, conduct brief classroom presentations, and represent Career Connection at events in a positive and professional manner.
• Project Support & Data Entry: Provide diligent attention-to-detail work to support large-scale initiatives and big events such as the Career fair.
• Website & UConnect Support: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Career Website on the UConnect platform and take initiative to make updates on the platform and possibly support the creation of new webpages.
