About The Position

The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state national and international levels.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
  • Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 credits
  • Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents
  • Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct
  • Meet all deadlines set forth, attend all required meetings and training, work scheduled hours, properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time, assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada, behave in a manner that is ethical, maintain a high level of integrity

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fields related to public health, psychology, counseling, social work or related health sciences field through course of study, previous work experience or extracurricular activities
  • Motivation to develop and implement wellness initiatives or programs, including planning, promotion and evaluation
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and current trends in wellness promotion and mental health
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in wellness programming and support services
  • Excellent organization and project management skills in a team-based environment with multiple projects
  • Flexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasks
  • Willingness to mentor an intern during the fall and spring semesters
  • Commitment to advancing the foundational pillars of the Home Means Nevada Platform through: Creating a safer campus environment through preventative education, awareness campaigns and collaborative programming with wellness partners Expanding personal care initiatives beyond Wellness Week Promoting visibility and accessibility of on-campus wellness services by partnering with student organizations and community providers Advocating for student needs by uplifting wellness-focused initiatives and ensuring campus resources are student-informed and widely promoted

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Director of Campus Wellness in the Director’s absence or at the Director’s request
  • Program and promote events and initiatives related to campus health and wellness assigned by the Director of Campus Wellness, including but not limited to, It’s On Us, green Dot Training, Pack Fit, Wellness Wednesdays, etc.
  • Work with Inkblot and campus marketing organizations to promote campus wellness resources and manage Department public relations.
  • Collaborate with ASUN and campus entities to provide support and informational resources to students regarding issues of public health.
  • Responsible for attending all ASUN retreats, and trainings as decided by the Director of Campus Wellness and the Director of Executive Outreach.
  • Other duties as called upon by my position
