About The Position

Horizons at The Episcopal Academy (HEA) seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Wellness Coordinator to support the health, safety, and well-being of students. This summer position runs from June 22–July 30, 2026 , and is ideal for a flexible, organized, and caring professional who fosters a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Horizons encourages staff to return for multiple summers to help strengthen the program and community.

Requirements

  • Completion of all required state and federal clearances
  • CPR/AED certification required.
  • Commitment to Horizons' mission and educational equity.
  • Knowledge of best practices in student health, safety, and wellness; practical experience preferred.
  • Flexibility, strong organization, initiative, and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Ability to relate to children and families from diverse racial, cultural, religious, and neurodiverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal growth, self-reflection, and understanding systemic impacts on students and families.

Responsibilities

  • Attend orientation and professional development sessions.
  • Ensure First-Aid kit inventory is stocked and maintained.
  • Collect medical forms and action plans for students with health conditions.
  • Review health forms, allergies, and medical conditions on student rosters.
  • Accept, store, and administer prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Treat injuries and illnesses, completing incident reports as needed.
  • Communicate health concerns, injuries, or illnesses to parents/guardians, the Program Manager, and staff.
  • Inform the Program Manager of any concerns regarding student or staff health and safety.
  • Collaborate with fellow summer staff on daily responsibilities.
  • Organize and maintain health forms, medication logs, and communication records.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students and staff.
  • Professionally interact with students, families, peers, leadership, and the broader campus community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
