Rogue Credit Union was founded in 1956 as a teacher’s credit union and the Student Branch Program keeps us in touch with our roots. This program provides students with valid work experience by providing clear learning objectives and opportunity for future employment. Rogue Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative headquartered in the Rogue Valley located in beautiful southern Oregon.   • Short essay on why you would like to be a part of the program (150 words or less)
  • Applicants must be a current student at the above listed high school, be in good academic standing with a GPA of at least 2.5 and be going into at least their Sophomore year in order to be eligible.
  • Good communication and listening skills: the ability to manage multiple priorities operate ten-key calculators, must have a good computer, keyboarding, and cash handling skills.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in their work.
  • Ability to use a ten-key calculator and computer keyboard by touch.
  • Some lifting required (up to 30 pounds), continuous sitting, occasional standing and occasional walking.
  • Finger dexterity while using computer.
  • Occasional talking and hearing in person and on the telephone.
  • Continuous clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and continuous clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and accurately processes member financial transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders, transfers, etc., as directed.
  • Responds to member's requests, problems, and complaints and/or directs members to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance. Demonstrates ownership and follow through with all member requests.
  • Collaborates with and assists other departments/branches to maintain unsurpassed service across all areas of the Credit Union.
  • Accurately maintains and balances cash drawer and daily transactions, ATM's, vault, cash/coin vaults, dispensing machines, etc. Fully completes branch-specific opening and closing duties.
  • Collaborates and participates with the high school student branch team and is actively involved in the high school branch tasks and activities.
  • Promotes a culture of deepening member participation by effectively cross-selling credit union products and services to meet the member's needs.
  • Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
