About The Position

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO UPPERCLASSMEN ONLY. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THIS POSITION. This is a full academic year position. Expected hours of work per week : 10-20 Work Location & Hours : Mill 110 unless otherwise directed; Mon- Fri; 8am-10pm Qualifications for Position: Prior experience in A/V work. Additional experience in music or electronics preferred. Responsible for completing satisfactory work with little or no supervision. Flexibility with rapidly changing objectives and drifting event times. Good personal communication skills. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments Someone who will commit to 10-15 hours per week. Expected Duties and Responsibilities: Support faculty and students using AV equipment in the classroom by troubleshooting problems that occur during class times professionally. Follow procedures for daily testing of the equipment in classrooms to ensure that it is working correctly. Log support tickets for any AV issues that are reported, closing those that are resolved and routing to a tier 2 technician any that need further work. Complete clerical tasks assigned by the Chief Information Officer or the AVClassroom Specialist, including but not limited to reporting on inventory, updating schedules, etc. Complete routine tasks related to AV such as soldering cables and connections, editing audio and video, and archiving recordings. Attend any scheduled departmental student-employee meetings. Fulfill other such duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer or the AV Classroom Specialist. Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development including assuming duties or positions that will help one progress professionally in a technical support field. Communication in the form of carefully listening to instructions and asking questions when needed for clarification. Critical Thinking in the form of multi-tasking well in a fast-paced environment. Global Literacy displayed by working with students, faculty, and staff that have various points of view that may differ from your own. Leadership through serving as a role model to others by approaching tasks with confidence and a positive attitude. Professionalism by showing attention to detail, resulting in few if any errors in the work completed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Physical Demands: Sitting; Remaining in the seated position Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) 25-50 lbs. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly The office is located in Mills 110. The office hours are Mondays through Thursdays 8:00 am - 10:00 pm, Fridays 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
