About The Position
This is an internal, private posting for HR purposes only. ONCE STUDENT TEACHING IS COMPLETE and student teacher is released by University and/or Alternative Certification Program to begin substitute teaching, candidate may be considered for substitute teacher role. SUBSTITUTE TEACHER TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Substitutes are employed on an at-will basis and are not considered contractual employees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Responsible for implementing the District's instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated, in accordance with district policies, and procedures on a day-to-day basis. 2. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function. WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
Requirements
- Enrolled in University and/or Alternative Certification Program
- University and/or Alternative Certification Progam (ACP) assignment to student teach with Cypress Fairbanks ISD
- Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be a current student teacher in CFISD for 2025-2026 school year
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university (Letter of intent from university accepted with transcript commitment date).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Flexible and able to adjust daily routine.
- Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children preferred.
