The College embraces and seeks to hire individuals who want to be a part of this environment and have the skill sets necessary to be successful in this position. The Aims2UNC Student Success Coach serves the central function of providing appreciative advising and coaching to Aims2UNC students. This position provides academic and transition advising, as well as resource referrals, to help students make informed decisions about their short- and long-term educational trajectories. This position serves as a success coach for students as they complete their Associate degrees at Aims and transition to the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) to complete a baccalaureate degree via the Aims2UNC program and partnership. Although this position includes responsibilities regarding the advising components of the program, it will have a heightened focus on developing a sense of community and belonging within the Aims2UNC cohort through timely and strategic programming. In the spirit of appreciative advising pedagogy, the Student Success Coach I engages in student development activities to help students make proactive and effective decisions regarding their course and program choices. The Student Success Coach I will maintain an assigned caseload of advisees from the Aims2UNC program and will engage in regularly scheduled meetings, proactive interventions/follow-ups, and be available for additional questions as the student’s primary point of contact within the program.
