The Student Success Coach I serves the central function of providing appreciative advising and coaching to students. This position provides academic advising and resource referrals to help students make informed decisions about their short- and long-term educational trajectories. This position serves as a success coach for students as they complete their program of study at Aims and transition to the workforce and/or further continued educational pursuits. Although this position provides academic advising and course recommendations, the primary focus is to provide success coaching to the advisee. In the spirit of appreciative advising pedagogy, the Student Success Coach I engages in student development activities to help students make proactive, effective decisions about their course and program choices. Each Student Success Coach I, will maintain an assigned caseload of advisees from specified programs of study, engaging in regularly scheduled meetings, proactive interventions/follow-ups, and otherwise being available for additional questions as the student’s primary point of contact within the division. Occasional travel may be required.
