About The Position

The Student Social Media Manager supports the Department of Psychological Sciences by creating, managing and curating content for its social media platform. This role is ideal for a student with strong communication skills, creativity and interest in connecting fellow students to departmental news, events and opportunities via Instagram and LinkedIn.

Requirements

• Strong writing, grammar and communication skills.
• Creativity and an eye for visual design.
• Familiarity with social media platforms (especially instagram).
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Psychological Sciences major

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Canva or other design tools is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create and schedule engaging content for Instagram and other platforms twice a week and as needed.
• Promote departmental events, alumni stories, student achievements and faculty highlights.
• Collaborate with departmental staff and Psych Club to align messaging and university values.
• Take photos and gather content from events and student life.
• Monitor engagement metrics and suggest strategies for increasing reach.
• Ensure that all posts reflect the department's tone, mission and professionalism.
