About The Position

The Student Services & Program Support Assistant plays a critical role in delivering a high‑impact student experience for learners enrolled across the SC Johnson College of Business programs. Serving as the on‑site go‑to resource for students, this position supports the two‑college partnership between the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP) and the SC Johnson College of Business, which jointly oversee the Rubacha Department of Real Estate and the Baker MPS program. Reporting jointly to the Director, Online Master’s & MSBA Programs and the Department Manager for the Paul Rubacha Department of Real Estate, this role provides equally shared support to both the MSBA and Baker Program teams. The assistant leads the planning, coordination, and execution of class sessions and co‑curricular engagement activities for students and alumni. This includes faculty support; end‑to-end management of classroom and event logistics; faculty travel and lodging coordination; preparation of pre‑program materials; and collaboration with IT, catering, and facilities teams. This position requires flexibility to support programs located at both 570 Lexington Avenue and the Tata Innovation Center on Roosevelt Island. The role operates in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment that demands strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a student‑first mindset. Requirements

• Associates degree with 2 to 4 years’ relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organization and time management skills
• Good judgement and maturity, good attention to detail
• Very strong MS Office suite, Canvas, and data analysis skills and budgeting experience, and
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with a demanding client group in a calm and efficient manner is essential.
• Experience in student services and faculty support.
• Must be available to work nights and weekends to support program goals.
• Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
• Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color.
• Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with design and implementation of surveys.
• Very strong experience and skills with Excel and PowerPoint, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, Workday system; Bursar system; positive experiences in process improvement.
• Experience working with people from different countries and cultures, and/or experience studying, working, or traveling abroad.
• Experience with web content management tools such as WordPress and Slack or similar internal communication platforms and/or using social media to promote programs, events, and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for students and faculty during class sessions, with regular evening and occasional weekend staffing responsibilities.
• Coordinate classroom and event logistics, including space reservations, materials preparation, vendor coordination, and hospitality support.
• Support onboarding of new students each year and facilitate ongoing communications, surveys, and announcements.
• Manage program‑related materials, databases, and routine administrative workflows.
• Provide logistical support for student and alumni events across Cornell’s NYC locations, ensuring a welcoming and polished experience for guests and speakers.
• Assist faculty with course setup and maintenance in Canvas.
• Draft newsletters, manage routine financial transactions, and support tracking of program expenses.
• Collaborate with multiple offices across two colleges to ensure seamless program delivery.
• Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
• Provide support to other programs as operational needs arise.
