About The Position

The Assistant Director of MSBA NYC Program plays a key role in supporting program execution, student advising, and co‑curricular engagement. This position provides both strategic and hands‑on leadership, collaborating with MSBA colleagues, campus partners, and external stakeholders to deliver an exceptional, inclusive experience for a diverse student population. We are seeking a self‑driven professional with strong judgment, proven experience, and the ambition to excel in a dynamic, high‑impact role. The Assistant Director, reporting to the Director of Online Masters & MSBA Programs, oversees the full MSBA student lifecycle by providing holistic academic advising, supporting students with moderately complex personal and institutional concerns, and connecting them with appropriate resources to promote success. This role contributes to key initiatives that advance retention, persistence, and graduation; develops and implements co‑curricular programming—including orientations, welcome events, speaker sessions, and student interest groups—to strengthen community and engagement; and participates in assessment efforts and school‑wide committees to enhance policies and student services. The position also supports admissions and corporate relations activities as needed, collaborates closely with partners across Johnson and the broader university such as Admissions, Cornell Health, Global Learning, and Student Disability Services, and regularly uses systems such as Salesforce and Academic Student of Concern forms to ensure accurate documentation and student tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a student advising role in a higher education setting.
  • Program management experience.
  • Strong communications skills; writing, editing, public speaking and multimedia.
  • Profound commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement processes.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing. Proven experience connecting diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing practices to business goals.
  • Demonstrated skill in understanding cultural differences.
  • Enjoys interacting with prospective and current students, alumni, and business leaders.
  • Must be available to work evenings to support program goals.
  • Familiar with Canvas, Peoplesoft, Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Event planning experience.
