The Student Services Advisor II (Business Title: Associate Director, Specialized Masters Programs) in Marshall’s Specialized Masters Programs will report to the Assistant Dean of Specialized Masters and will primarily run the Progressive Degree Program (PDP), graduate certificate programs, and the Master of Management Studies. This role will oversee and coordinate key functions for these programs, including recruiting and admissions for PDP, student advising, reporting, and events. The role serves as a key point of contact for students and campus and school partners, providing guidance on program requirements, policies, and processes, and facilitating coordination across departments. In addition, the Associate Director, Specialized Masters Programs will provide supplemental support to the six specialized master’s programs—MS Business Analytics, MS Finance, MS Global Supply Chain Management, MS Marketing, MS Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and MS Social Entrepreneurship, contributing to cross-program initiatives and team priorities. Program Operations & Coordination Manage day-to-day operations for the Progressive Degree Program (PDP), graduate certificate programs, and Master of Management Studies. Coordinate program timelines, workflows, and processes to ensure efficient and consistent execution. Maintain accurate student records, including applications, course plans, and degree progress documentation. Track student enrollment, progression, and completion, and support reporting needs across programs. Admissions & Enrollment Support (as it relates to PDP) Coordinate PDP admissions processes, including application review, interview scheduling, decision processing, and communication with applicants. Advise prospective students on program requirements, eligibility, and application procedures. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate admissions decisions and enrollment processing. Student Advising & Support Provide academic advising to students in PDP (in collaboration with the Marshall Undergraduate Advising Team), certificate programs, and Master of Management Studies, including guidance on curriculum, policies, and degree requirements. Respond to student inquiries and provide timely, accurate information or referrals to appropriate campus resources (e.g., financial aid, visa services). Data Management & Reporting Maintain and update program data in student information systems and internal tracking tools (in coordination with USC Registrar and Degree Progress as it relates to PDP). Generate routine and ad hoc reports related to admissions, enrollment, and student outcomes. Support data accuracy and compliance with university policies and FERPA guidelines. Events & Program Logistics Coordinate and support program events, including orientations, information sessions, workshops, and commencement activities. Support event logistics such as scheduling, communications, materials, and on-site support. Cross-Program & Team Support Provide operational support to the six specialized master’s programs, including assistance with advising and events. Collaborate with team members to ensure continuity of services during peak periods or staff absences. Assist with special projects and process improvements across the Specialized Masters Programs portfolio. Supervision & Team Coordination Supervise a Student Services Advisor I, providing day-to-day guidance, task delegation, and workflow oversight. Ensure alignment of responsibilities and provide training and support to facilitate effective contributions to admissions, advising, events, and program operations. Review work outputs for accuracy and consistency and support professional development.
