Minimum Qualifications/Requirements Enrolled at a minimum of half-time status at the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 Able to work independently and as part of a team Willing to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays Strong attention to detail To be eligible to work over summer months students must be either: Pre-registered (at least half-time) for the upcoming fall semester or Enrolled at a minimum of half-time status in Summer College Role Responsibilities While a Student Researcher is expected to contribute in many ways to the research project, typical responsibilities include the following: Glassware preparation for testing Preparation food and water for organism cultures Renewal of organism cultures Laboratory equipment calibration, use, and/or maintenance Preparation of laboratory reagents and standards Sampling equipment preparation and maintenance Sample collection and analysis Data entry and proofing Assistance in data analysis and quality assurance Conduction of toxicity tests Access to laboratory on weekends for culture care General lab maintenance Record keeping Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by individual researchers.
