About The Position

To provide research assistance to the faculty mentor. Tasks may include collecting, gathering, organizing, and analyzing data, writing research findings/reports, creating databases, and other research-related tasks as needed. This position will work closely with the faculty mentor to determine the kinds and nature of assistance the student will provide for the research project conducted by the faculty member. Most of work will be centered in helping with the research projects.

Requirements

• Must be organized, responsible and independent, being able to work without supervision.
• Must be able to complete work expeditiously and on time.
• Must display ability to utilize BYUH library system and resources, inter-library systems as well as resources on the internet.
• Must display ability to read scholarly and academic documents and report back to faculty in lucid writing and oral discussion.
• Must possess excellent word processing skills and be familiar or willing to learn other programs deemed necessary for the research projects.
• Must display excellent writing skills and the ability to evaluate research materials in the field.
• Must maintain a cum. GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Assists in collecting/gathering research data.
• Assist in preparation for analysis, report writing, or record-keeping
• Assist in any other tasks relevant to faculty research needs.
• Verify the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases, correcting any errors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
