Student Research Assistant
About The Position
The Research Assistant supports CICADA’s (Centre for Indigenous Conservation and Development Alternatives) interdisciplinary research mandate, which centers on Indigenous knowledges, environmental conservation, and community-led development alternatives. The role supports the dissemination and mobilization of research produced by CICADA’s global network and requires familiarity with academic research practices and subject-matter knowledge in Indigenous studies, environmental science, conservation, or a closely related interdisciplinary field. Requirements
- Familiarity with academic research practices
- Subject-matter knowledge in Indigenous studies, environmental science, conservation, or a closely related interdisciplinary field.
- To work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
- English communication both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Synthesizing and translating CICADA research projects, publications, and field initiatives into accessible newsletter content.
- Collaborating with researchers to identify key findings, themes, and outputs for research dissemination.
- Supporting knowledge mobilization by situating research within academic, policy, and community-based contexts.
- Editing and organizing research-related content to ensure accuracy and alignment with CICADA’s research mandate.
- Contributing to the visibility and documentation of interdisciplinary research activities.
