About The Position

Functions as a Student Research Assistant to provide support of daily operations in a research laboratory within the Department of Internal Medicine; Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The role assists with research activities under direct supervision, including collection and organization of research data, processing biospecimens, preparing media, solutions, and reagents for experiments, performing and maintaining cell cultures, conducting library research, washing glassware, autoclaving glassware, tools and equipment, and assisting with inventory and maintenance of research supplies. Responsibilities

• Provide support of daily operations in a research laboratory
• Assist with research activities under direct supervision
• Assist with collection of and organizes research data
• Assist with processing biospecimens
• Prepare media, solutions, and reagents for use in experiments
• Perform and maintain cell cultures
• Conduct library research
• Wash glassware used in laboratory
• Autoclave (sterilize) glassware, tools and equipment as needed
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of research supplies
