About The Position

This position functions as a Student Research Assistant supporting the daily operations of a research laboratory within the Neuropsychology Division (Neurology Department). The student assists with research activities under direct supervision, including collecting and organizing research data, preparing media, solutions, and reagents, and performing and maintaining cell cultures. Additional responsibilities include conducting library research, washing laboratory glassware, and sterilizing equipment and tools as needed. The role also supports inventory management and general maintenance of research supplies. Duties are basic and routine in nature and may include administrative tasks in the front office, such as directing students to faculty offices, assisting with printing, scheduling, and other faculty needs. A small portion of time will be dedicated to hands-on laboratory support. The Student Research Assistant must demonstrate excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and represent the department and the university with professionalism and integrity in alignment with OSU's mission and shared values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Requires successful completion of a background check
  • Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen
