About The Position

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. With 632 beds, Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is a major teaching and research hospital and home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. The hospital is also known for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart and vascular and cancer care. The Student Radiology Technologist, under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer, performs diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves assuming responsibility for and maintaining the general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures, and ensuring equipment/supplies are present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each procedure. The technologist coordinates and performs routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma, and surgery procedures according to established standards and practices, while adhering to Corewell's philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently in accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology and/or Ultrasonography program at 2nd year student level.
  • Must have completed the first year of an accredited imaging program.
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers Course from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic imaging procedures under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer.
  • Assume responsibility and maintains the general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures.
  • Assures equipment/supplies are present and accounted for at beginning and end of each imaging procedure.
  • Coordinates and performs routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma and surgery procedures according to established standards and practices under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer.
