About The Position

Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital, a 632-bed major teaching and research hospital, has proudly served residents across Southeast Michigan since 1953. It is home to five residency programs and a cardiology fellowship in partnership with Wayne State University School of Medicine. The hospital is verified as a Level II trauma center and accredited by the Joint Commission as a primary stroke center, and is known for clinical excellence and innovation in orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart and vascular, and cancer care. The Student Radiology Technologist position involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer. Responsibilities include coordinating and performing routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma, and surgery procedures according to established standards and practices. The role also requires assuming responsibility for and maintaining the general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures, and ensuring equipment and supplies are present and accounted for at the beginning and end of each imaging procedure. The individual must adhere to Corewell's philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently in accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology and/or Ultrasonography program at 2nd year student level.
  • Must have completed the first year of an accredited imaging program.
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers Course from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer.
  • Assume responsibility and maintain the general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures.
  • Assure equipment/supplies are present and accounted for at beginning and end of each imaging procedure.
  • Coordinate and perform routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures, portable x-rays, trauma and surgery procedures according to established standards and practices under direct or indirect supervision of a registered radiographer.
