About The Position

PRN hours-one 12 hour weekend shift per 4-week schedule required 11a-11p, 11p-11a Job Responsibilities Provide patient care in the provision of routine hygienic, nutritional, and comfort needs of patients such as, but not limited to: bathing, distributing fluids and nourishments, feeding, ambulating, changing bed linens, oral care, grooming, shampooing hair, toileting, etc. Perform basic nursing support tasks such as but not limited to: obtaining vital signs, answering call lights, transporting (i.e. patients, specimens, etc.), assisting with patient transfers, and range of motion. May assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as provide observation as a sitter when needed. May receive and screen visitors and telephone calls and handle general inquiries. Files, distributes mail and performs other clerical duties as assigned. Types various reports and documents for unit staff. Photocopies and distributes and/or files as necessary. Communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members in person, telephone, and/or email. Assist with the maintenance of supplies and equipment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent and current, active enrollment in an accredited ASN or BSN program
Minimum: Completion of one semester of clinicals
Minimum: Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)

Nice To Haves

Preferred: One year experience in a hospital setting
