MMC-Park Falls Internship Opportunities (rank your preferred departments within your application questionnaire): Medical-Surgical Emergency Department The summer internship is anticipated to start in early June, 2026 and end in mid-late August, 2026. JOB SUMMARY The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance to the patient/family care plan to collect patient information and provide direct patient care contributing significantly to the achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the SNI is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate collection and recording of data, completion of routine and delegated direct patient care activities and communicating and collaborating with the Registered Nurse to prioritize workload. When under the direct supervision of the RN, the SNI may participate in performing direct and indirect nursing care for patients. The SNI collaborates with the RN during patient assessment to develop the nursing diagnosis(s), the patient plan of care and for the evaluation of nursing interventions.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree nursing program with completion of at least two semesters in ADN program or four semesters in BSN program for clinical nursing curriculum.
  • The Student Nurse Intern role will only be available up to 90 days from the date of graduation.
  • Must have, or have had: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin, or Licensed Practical Nurse License awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) before current year internship.
  • Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid.
