About The Position

The Student Entry Points Specialist will serve as a key connector between Resurrection Students and the broader community, with a particular focus on outreach and new connection points for students. This role will actively build relationships both on-site and off-site, representing Resurrection Students in the community, supporting student groups, and creating pathways for students to engage with our ministry for the first time. At the Leawood location, this position will also be a central leader for our Wednesday night youth programming—helping plan, prepare, and execute engaging experiences for students. As part of the Leawood Student Ministry team, the Entry Points Specialist will help lead weekly programming, cultivate relationships with new and returning students, and design creative outreach opportunities for non-religious and nominally religious students. Responsibilities include participation in mid-week planning meetings, leadership of the After-School Program leadership, Wednesday and Sunday leadership, community networking, supporting retreats and events, and proactively developing and implementing fresh ways to meet students where they are.

Requirements

  • 2 years leadership experience in youth ministry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with building relationships with middle and high school students, and volunteers
  • Proven Results in: dreaming, planning, and executing a new event/program
  • Knowledge of student ministry and student development
  • Able to relate to and lead students from various backgrounds
  • Proficiency in Mac & PC platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in Planning Center is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of an after-school program for middle and high school students alongside the Student Ministry Team.
  • Provide leadership and be present at the after-school program.
  • Assist in volunteer recruitment and training for the after-school program.
  • Create and manage summer programming along with other staff to maintain connections with after-school program families throughout the summer.
  • Develop and grow connections with school groups like National Honors Society and Student Council, as well as connecting with and sponsoring sports teams, building club partnerships, and attending community events.
  • Build student connections and develop partnerships with FCA, Jesus Rally, and other local faith-based student groups providing.
  • Collaborate with the Student Ministry team to plan weekly themes, activities, and spiritual formation elements for youth group.
  • Initiate and develop meaningful relationships with students both on-site and off-site, especially new and first-time students, maintaining consistent follow-up processes.
  • Assist with the planning, execution, and leadership of retreats, trips, and special events.
  • Support communication efforts to students, parents, and volunteers through email, texting platforms, and social media.
  • Contribute to a healthy team culture through collaboration, shared leadership, and clear communication.
  • Uphold and model the values, mission, and culture of Resurrection Students in all environments.
  • Provide leadership and be a presence in all Student events, trips, and retreats that occur throughout the year as needed.
  • Typical expectation would be 1 serve trip a year.
  • In collaboration with the Resurrection Leawood Director of Student Ministries, recruit, manage, motivate, and equip volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follow Jesus and engage in the “five essential practices” of the Christian life: worship, study, serve, give, and share.
  • Support the church’s purpose of “building a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people become deeply committed Christians.”
  • Exemplify the church’s values and support its theological direction as a United Methodist Church.
