JOB SUMMARY: Support The GO Year of Discipleship in a position that combines day-to-day leadership and support of all student meals within the program with Christ-centered mentorship of GO Year students. The Student Meals Coordinator will focus on supporting the GO Year in all areas relating to food service for GO Year students, including on-site and off-site meals. This involves close working relationships with both Forest Home’s Food Service Director, as well as the Lakeview Kitchen Manager, for on-site dining needs of all students, and coordinating with the Director of The GO Year and the Experiences Coordinator for the planning and implementation of all off-site dining needs. The Student Meals Coordinator will also assist in collectively guiding and discipling a cohort of 40 students throughout the full 12-month experience, fostering spiritual growth, community engagement, and personal development among students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop excellent working relationships with the Dining Manager and the Lakeview Kitchen Manager to provide an excellent Food Service experience to all GO Year students Develop a weekly, meal-by-meal student rotation schedule for the set up and tear down of all meals, including sanitization of Lakeview Dining Work with the Guest Dining staff to create and maintain a system for after-hours access to food and snacks, as well as providing meals to students during windows where large group meals are not served to GO Year students (primality two meals on Sundays, and off weeks when the program isn’t in session). Plan and implement all meal plans for off-site excursions, in coordination with the Experiences Coordinator, as directed by the Director of The Go Year Provide kitchen support to Guest Dining staff as needed Provide consistent, day-to-day mentorship and discipleship to GO Year students Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with each assigned student (approximately 10 students of the same gender) Lead weekly small group devotionals utilizing pre-determined discipleship curriculum Monitor and support the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of assigned students Submit weekly reports to the Director of The GO Year regarding the spiritual, mental, and physical health of each student under their care Maintain a personal rhythm of daily Bible study, remaining aligned with the GO Year students’ reading plan and spiritual disciplines Actively engage in recruiting efforts as lead by the GO Year Director and Admissions Coordinator All other duties as assigned EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least 18 years old Previous food service experience in a guest services setting Ability to be a self-starter as well as a highly engaging and encouraging leader Demonstrated ability to work within a highly collaborative environment, including shared leadership dynamics; at times leading and at times following, especially in cross-department settings Has experienced living in, or has exposure to, a college dorm-style environment, with the ability to speak into shared living dynamics, conflict resolution, and interpersonal situations Must obtain Food Handlers Card from San Bernardino County (Forest Home will provide training and cover fees) QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
