The Postal Services Student worker performs tasks essential to the completion of university inbound mail sorting and delivering. The student worker must be able to help in areas where needed. This may include processing outgoing packages and cash handling. Must attach class schedule with your application Class schedule must work with required/needed availability. Well-developed communications skills. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of the United State Postal Service, UPS and FedEx. Ability to lift 50 lbs. High school Diploma required. Knowledge of Liberty University. Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment. Must be punctual, prepared, assume responsibilities, and ensure assigned tasks are satisfactorily completed. ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB Communication and Comprehension Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information. Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner. Strong organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Problem Solving Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Physical and Sensory Abilities Required to travel to local and campus locations. Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods. Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally. Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, stoop, and lift in order to conduct business. WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment The working environment is a climate-controlled post office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
