About The Position

As a facilities assistant, you will assist the Assistant Director of Facilities with maintaining residence hall furniture and common area furniture. This job requires you to help with inventory, moving furniture, repairing the furniture, weekly walkthroughs, and assisting with reporting issues found around campus. Essential Functions and Responsibilities 1. Assist and support all the administrative/operational aspects of the office. 2. Assist with inventory checks. 3. Assist with resident hall inspections. 4. Assist with moving furniture and facility logistics. 5. Respond to furniture work orders. 6. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. 7. Assist in the training of new Student Workers for facilities. 8. Assist in office projects as they arise. 9. Other duties as assigned. 10. Available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Some weekends as needed. Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies Minimum Qualifications: 1. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. 2. Clean driving record. 3. Ability to drive a truck, van, and or panel truck. 4. Critical thinking skills. 5. Team Player. 6. Developed people skills. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Prior office and customer service experience. 2. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. 3. Ability to work cooperatively with employees, students, and the public. 4. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
