Student Investigator will work with the St. Joseph County Cyber Crimes Unit as on-the-job training. The Student Investigator will also attend various investigative courses offered by the St. Joseph Prosecuting Attorney. Duties and Responsibilities: • Assisting on case investigations. • Conducting digital forensic examinations, on computers, cell phones, and other digital item. • Forensically imaging digital evidence. • Evidence logging & collection. • Preparation of legal processes such as legal searches & seizures of materials, and testifying in court as needed. • Taking part of specialized training related to cyber forensics and undercover technology investigation. • Other investigative and educational tasks assigned by the Cyber Crimes Unit. Physical Demands: This position does not require any heavy, repetitive, or overhead lifting. Position may require occasional car travel around St. Jo-seph County, as well as to neighboring counties. Work-related transportation will be provided by the Cyber Crime Units. Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour General Qualifications: • Completed FAFSA on file demonstrating financial need. • High School Diploma or G.E.D. • Be able to communicate well orally and work well with diverse student populations • Maintains enrollment in eligible courses • Maintain an aid-eligible Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater. • Projects positive image for Ivy Tech Community College. • Display a professional appearance and demeanor. • Must be dependable, responsible and organized. • Must work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisors. • Must be able to practice confidentiality in all aspects of work. • Must have excellent customer service skills. • Confidentiality must be maintained and followed along with FERPA regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned.
