Student Internship- Geotechnical Laboratory
About The Position
As a student intern with our materials lab, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. Your experience will involve assisting and performing geotechnical testing such as classifications, compressive strength, and one-dimensional tests as well as working with our geotechnical engineering staff putting together geotechnical reports and appendices. You’ll get an introduction to Olsson's culture that will help you evaluate our firm as a career choice. This position may occasionally assist with working in the field with our drilling team to learn how samples are obtained. Freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Nice To Haves
- The ability to work during the school year in addition to the summer is preferred.
