About The Position

Student Intern Technician Job Responsibilities:

· Set up, calibrate, use and clean laboratory equipment.

· Scans in SDS, TPS & COA information received on supplied chemistries being
used in the laboratory projects & organizes that information by supplier &
tradename on R&T’s cloud-based share drive.

· Executes experiment plans provided from the Scientists or Chemical Process
Engineer which entail, for example, the formulation of chemical batches and
assists in their associated QC & end-use application testing.

· Supports research efforts of the Macon Technical staff via the collection and
organization of test data as directed.

· Maintains lab consumables & office supply inventory.

· Maintains electronic lab records on all experimentation conducted.

· Ensure laboratory spaces are clean, organized and safe.

· Ensure experimental batches are organized & stored as retains & subsequently
tracked for stability properties under different environmental conditions.

Student Intern Lab Technician Requirements

· Student Intern Candidate must have successfully completed at least 2 years of
college in one of the following undergraduate degree programs: Chemistry,
Chemical Engineering or Materials Science & Engineering.

· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

· Ability to independently operate basic laboratory equipment such as analytical
balances, pH meters, conductivity meters, Halogen moisture analyzers,
auto-titrators, etc. once trained by Macon Technical staff.

· Must have the ability to follow verbal or written experimental instructions
exactly, accurately record all observations, have good hands-on bench skills to
carry out tedious experimental lab tasks with high precision.

· Computer Skills with Word, Outlook and particularly Excel spreadsheets.

· Ability to write short technical summaries of experimental work for project
reporting purposes.

· Work environment involves exposure to various chemical materials that require
following safety precautions and may include the use of appropriate personal
protective equipment.

· Position requires moderate physical activity, including the handling of
average weight objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing or walking more than four
hours per day.
