About The Position

The purpose of this job is to provide the high school student with a positive, on-the-job experience in the healthcare environment in order to better define their health care career goals.

Requirements

• Must be a current high school student enrolled in a Health Program class.
• Must submit one professional letter of reference.
• Must have a working knowledge of reading, writing, mathematical, and computer skills as normally acquired through high school courses.
• Must be able to work independently, accurately follow directions and possess good organizational skills.
• Must have interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals either in person or on the phone.
• Must be able to work in a latex environment.
• Overall dexterity is required, including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling.
• Overall vision is necessary, including depth perception, reading, and close-up work; must have peripheral field of vision.
• Hearing and speech are necessary
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering, and feeling.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Overall vision is necessary, including reading and close-up work.
• Hearing and speech on the phone as well as in person are necessary.
• Must be able to communicate verbally in person, on the phone and in wiring.
• Must be able to freely move around the department or facility.
• Is required to physically aide patients, including lifting.
• Frequently position requires regular public contact and decision-making.

• Equivalent Experience: Within 1 month of hire or transfer
