About The Position

In order to be considered for this role, students must apply through Workday as well as fill out the Microsoft Form found here. All new first-year students to UWSP are required to attend a one-day in-person Orientation program. Orientation sessions are held on specific days throughout the summer. This position primarily focuses on the summer sessions with additional work in August and January for one-off Orientation dates.

Requirements

• Must be able available for ALL training and scheduled Orientation dates and the entire timeframes
• Have a cumulative UWSP GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Be a current UWSP Main Campus student

Responsibilities

• Assist students and guests during the check-in/welcome fair and answering questions/concerns
• Work with presenters to assist in presentation facilitation each event date
• Facilitate and lead small group discussions during breakout sessions covering information such as important resources and dates, campus apps, student "get to know each other" activities, etc.
• Escort groups around campus and give direction (full campus tours, residence hall tours, meeting locations, parking lot monitoring)
• Collate orientation materials as needed before events
• Generally assist students in their transition to UWSP and get them excited to join us in the fall!
• Be THE pointer role model for all incoming students
