About The Position

Purpose: Develop, create, and assist with the installation and tear down of all exhibits, and manage the exhibits' gallery receptions. Co-Op students also assist with gallery administrative duties such as promotion, graphic design work, and development of exhibitions. Co-Op students must be punctual, dependable, have an interest in art and design, and be able to work together with the gallery team to meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
• Enrolled in a Fine Arts or Graphic Design major
• Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines
• Well organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Must be able to work well with others and independently.
• The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University

Responsibilities

• Packing/unpacking artworks
• Install artworks
• Clean up (spackle and re-paint) the gallery after each exhibit
• Gallery signage and exhibit labeling
• Weekend monitoring (includes receiving artwork from artists in gallery for some exhibits)
• Other duties as assigned
