About The Position

The Williston Northampton School, an independent co-educational boarding and day school located in Easthampton, MA, has a full-time, calendar-year opening for a Student Financial Services Coordinator. The schedule for the position is Monday through Friday 40 hours per week, plus class Saturdays. Occasional special events (family weekend, commencement, welcome days, etc.) coverage as necessary. The Student Financial Services Coordinator (SFSC) will provide support for overall day-to-day management of the School’s financial reporting. This includes generating and sending invoices, collecting payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies. The SFSC will also work with students, their families and other school constituents to address questions and concerns regarding school accounts. The SFSC also works closely with the Admission Office to ensure registration of enrollment of new students for upcoming school years. Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Student billing, student and staff support, banking. Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar accounting experience preferably in an educational setting
  • Be able to work intuitively and independently as well as part of the Business Office team
  • Have strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities as situations arise in fast paced environment
  • Have the ability to understand written and oral instruction
  • Have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in order to successfully interact with diverse staff, faculty, students and other constituents of the School
  • Possess proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
  • Be able to work in secondary boarding school atmosphere by successfully passing mandated CORI, (criminal offender record information) SORI (sex offender record information) and fingerprint based background checks
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
