About The Position

The Student Fellowship Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the routine daily activities and functions of the Student Fellowship Program. The Program Coordinator assists the Student Fellowship Program Manager in all aspects of supporting the goals of the Atrius “Youth as Healthcare Change Agents” Grant by ensuring that qualifying high school students are given a clearly defined opportunity to learn more about the day-to-day operations and requirements of different careers within the field of healthcare.

Requirements

  • History of satisfactory attendance and a positive work attitude.
  • Experience in a Health Care and/or Education setting.
  • Computer/typing Skills; Experience with Microsoft office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent multitasking; Flexibility.
  • Effective Communication skills with multiple disciplines, professionals, and students/parents.
  • Excellent organizational skills and social skills.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, detail oriented, and assertive when necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Experience working with youth/students.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Education or other related field.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and taking meeting minutes for steering committee meetings.
  • Monitoring mentoring goals and outcomes.
  • Coordinate, schedule and participate in community events and partnership meetings including but not limited to “Days in the Life,” job shadowing, health fairs, and community advocacy meetings.
  • Solicit staff mentors.
  • Connect participating students with policy concepts.
  • Assist with data collection.
  • Assist with participant, staff, and partnership needs and/or requests.
  • Maintain participant, staff, and steering committee confidentiality.
  • Conduct site tours with participants.
  • Train and support educators in delivering high-quality education.
  • Collaborate with Program Leadership, Steering Committee, and funders to align educational initiatives with institutional goals.
  • Monitor student progress and provide additional support as needed
  • Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of educational activities.
