Purpose The Technology Resources (TRecs) Depot program is designed to repurpose computers across campus, providing departments with a cost-effective solution for supplying computer equipment to students, interns, and staff. Student employees are essential to the process of evaluating, repairing, refurbishing, and reimaging used devices for reuse and promoting a green circular economy for the campus.
Requirements
- Must be a current University of Texas at Austin student.
- Moderate experience dealing with computer hardware and systems.
- Attention to detail in following a process and documenting inventory
- Dependability in attendance
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Nice To Haves
- CS or related major
- Advanced experience dealing with computer hardware and systems
Responsibilities
- Evaluate devices for functionality and overall condition.
- Identify and execute repairs to hardware when possible.
- Clean and sanitize all surfaces and internal components.
- Prepare devices for deployments using standard imaging.
- Prepare devices that cannot be used in the Depot for Surplus and manage data security.
