About The Position

Under the lead work direction of the Executive Assistant and Lead Philanthropic Associate, the Student Assistant provides general clerical and office support to the Office of Philanthropic Giving. This position also provides periodic support to the Office of Annual Giving, Office of Donor Relations, and the Corporate and Foundation Relations team, as well as occasional assistance with division-wide projects and events for University Advancement.

  • Admission or registration as a CSU student
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Social Security Card

Responsibilities

  • Assist with clerical duties including filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.
  • Prepare materials, packets, and basic documents for meetings and internal use.
  • Help maintain physical and digital records, including confidential donor files.
  • Assist with scheduling, calendar coordination, and meeting preparation.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and direct inquiries professionally.
  • Greet and assist visitors, staff, and stakeholders in a courteous manner.
  • Handle mail, deliveries, and general office correspondence.
  • Help maintain an organized and welcoming front office environment.
  • Provide periodic assistance to the Office of Annual Giving, Office of Donor Relations, and Corporate and Foundation Relations team.
  • Support tasks such as preparing campaign materials, assembling donor packets, and helping with bulk mailings or outreach.
  • Assist with interdepartmental collaboration and project-based support across the Division of University Advancement.
  • Assist with planning, logistics, and on-site support for department and division events.
  • Help with event materials, RSVPs, check-in, and hospitality tasks.
  • Support campus fundraising campaigns like Giving Tuesday and Faculty-Staff Campaigns.
  • Provide campus cart rides to donors and guests as needed.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Defensive Driver’s Card issued by the university.
  • Offer flexible support on special projects or as assigned by the Office of Philanthropic Giving or Advancement leadership.
