About The Position

Student assistant for Audio Visual / Classroom duties include, but are not limited to, serve as initial point of contact for students, faculty, and staff who are requesting audio/visual services for smart classrooms, conference rooms and other needs throughout the University. Student may be required to work at the front desk for the Technology Support Center or provide coverage for multiple areas of the Information Technology Services division. Responsibilities: Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to: Answering service calls and record messages Troubleshoot over the phone Document service calls by updating staff and with Cherwell Open/Close and manage tickets and tasks in Cherwell Report to various classrooms around campus to assist faculty and staff with technical support needs Assist in the integration of various AV systems in classrooms and other areas of the campus as needed Assisting with AV needs for various on-campus events, including but not limited to Commencement, Convocation, on campus conferences and meetings, etc. Assisting and supporting other departments in the division, such as the Technology Support Center, or Training Services. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position. Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Requirements

  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Social Security Card
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
