Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as an Auburn University student.
  • Report for the shift on time.
  • Interest in public service and delivery of quality customer service.
  • Be willing to work as a team member while interacting with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Dependability, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are imperative.
  • Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, balancing, hearing, handling objects with hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patrons with searching the catalog and Avery Index to find relevant information.
  • Troubleshoot issues and assist patrons in using the LADC's equipment and software technology including large-format printers and scanners, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Autodesk.
  • Promptly address patron questions or concerns about library resources and services and refer questions to the librarian or staff as appropriate.
  • Responsibly opening and closing the library during assigned shifts according to the LADC's hours of operation.
  • Assist with maintaining the collection by shelf reading and re-shelving materials.
  • Check library materials in and out accurately and efficiently.
