About The Position

Join the Oladipupo Lab in the Department of Entomology Undergraduate research assistant wanted for urban carpenter bee field study - Columbus, OH Carpenter bees cause significant damage to urban properties. This study aims to improve management strategies for carpenter bees. Position Details: ~20 hrs per week from May - June, 2026 Competitive compensation based on experience Set up and position traps at designated sites across Columbus Regular site visits to check, maintain, and log trap status Record field observations and contribute to data analysis in support of ongoing carpenter bee management What you will gain: Hands-on field research experience in urban entomology Mentorship from a faculty researcher in urban pest management Exposure to data analysis workflows used in entomological research

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Prior field or outdoor research experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up and position traps at designated sites across Columbus
  • Regular site visits to check, maintain, and log trap status
  • Record field observations and contribute to data analysis in support of ongoing carpenter bee management
